The Hotel Marqués de Cásares Monte Hermoso is located in Old Havana, Cuba, on Calle Oficios, next to Plaza San Francisco de Asís. The building, despite being in a privileged area near the sea, has been declared a historical heritage. The designed space comprises a surface of 600m2, distributed by the ground floor, mezzanine, the second and third levels. The 5-star hotel has 22 rooms and a presidential suite, bar space, reception, service spaces, rest areas, among other amenities. Apart from being able to provide a design of international stature, it was vitally important to preserve the original style of the building due to its historical condition and the enrichment it could bring to space.
The basic concept of the interior design starts from preserving the architecture and highlighting its iconic details, translating them into contemporary elements, which could not only set the scene but also serve as divisions within the interior spaces. An eclectic style was achieved that could bring a particular essence that could only be found in this hotel, a fusion between history, melancholy, elegance, current affairs, the world, and diversity.
